Towns Co. probationer charged with trafficking meth

By Katie Crumley
HIAWASSEE - Towns County authorities have charged one person with trafficking methamphetamine.

Towns County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Jeff Edge said deputies conducted a search at a residence on Highway 75 South Thursday where they discovered an apparent meth-selling business.

Edge said at the residence was an office, a desk, a money box and bags containing suspected methamphetamine packaged for sale.

He said 38-year-old James Michael Dickert of Hiwassee, who was already on probation for separate drugs and gun charges, was arrested and charged with trafficking of methamphetamine, possession of meth and possession with intent to distribute.
