UNDATED - Authorities in Gwinnett, Hall and White counties scrambled Wednesday afternoon and evening to keep up with damage caused by summer thunderstorms.
A thunderstorm with high winds, heavy rain and hail caused minor flooding and downed several trees and tree limbs in the city of Cleveland Wednesday afternoon, according to Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt.
Pruitt said the trees came down on Faulkner, Old Nachoochee and Woodman Hall roads around 3:00 p.m. The power was out for several customers in scattered areas of town. The White County Emergency Operation Center recorded 33 mph wind gusts during the storm.
Gwinnett County emergency officials said they handled 57 calls between 4:40 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
