Gainesville's Williams leads way for Big Red golfers at Furman

Nathan Williams led the way for a large group of Gainesville High golfers this week at the Furman Junior Classic in Greenville, S.C.

Williams claimed the boys 14-15-year-old division crown, firing a two-day total of 146 (74 and 72). He was joined in his division by teammate Spencer Ralston, who finished seventh with a 154.

The next best finish for Gainesville golfers came from Meg Callahan, who placed fourth in the girls 15-19 bracket with a 173, while teammate Morgan Reece fired a 189 to finish ninth.

The Red Elephants also placed four golfers in the boys 16-19 bracket, led by Lawson King's ninth place score of 153. Grant Lasseter also placed 14th with a 155, while Reeves Bell was 24th with a 159, and Webber Wycoff finished 34th with a 171.
