DEMOREST -- Following the Spring 2012 semester, 112 Piedmont College student athletes were named to the Athletic Director's academic honor roll. The honor was awarded to students who maintained at least a 3.4 overall grade point average during the spring semester while competing in intercollegiate sports. Thirty-four student-athletes carried a perfect 4.0. Among the student athletes were the following area residents:

Founded in 1897, Piedmont College is an independent liberal arts college of about 2,800 students with campuses located in Demorest and Athens, Ga. The college competes in the USA South Conference of the NCAA Division III and offers seven women's and seven men's intercollegiate sports. Spring 2012 was the inaugural season of men's lacrosse, and women's lacrosse will begin in spring 2013.
