Hall Co. awaits court date for LOST negotiations

By Ken Stanford Reporter
GAINESVILLE - City and county officials still waiting on a court date in the dispute over distribution of Hall County Local Option Sales Taxes.

Last month, with the failure of independent mediation, a joint petition was approved to take the matter to arbitration in Superior Court.

The dispute revolves around how revenues from local-option sales taxes should be divided among several jurisdictions.

A judge from outside the county will hear the matter.

But, county administrator Randy Knighton said Friday, as county offices were closing for the long Christmas holiday, "a court date has not been set at this point."
