Fire damages Barrow County house

WINDER - Fire caused heavy damage to a Barrow County house Friday afternoon, but everyone escaped injury.

According to the Barrow County Fire Department, the fire call came before 1:30 p.m. to the 600 block of Ode Pepper Road.

"Firefighters responded and found heavy fire conditions in the back of the house," Battalion Chief Mike Stoops said.

Firefighters said Red Cross responded to help one adult and one child displaced by the fire.

There's no word yet on the cause.
