WINDER - Barrow County Commissioners voted this week to hire Jock Connell as County Manager. According to Barrow County Human Resources Director Charlie Felts, Connell will start the first week of January.

Connell served as interim Hall County Administrator prior to the hiring of Randy Knighton. Connell currently serves as a consultant for Hall County. His title is Special Projects Manager.

Felts said Connell will no longer serve as a consultant for Hall County once he starts in Barrow.

His new salary will be $135,000 a year according to Felts.
