Police continue gas station robbery investigation

By Derreck Booth Anchor/reporter
GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Police continued to investigate the Tuesday evening robbery of a convenience store.

Police Corporal Joe Britte Wednesday confirmed the robbery of Wee Willy's, a Marathon station on Industrial Boulevard, is not related to an earlier bank robbery Tuesday.

The suspect description in the gas station crime remained vague.

"The only thing we have is two white males entered the store, produced handguns and demanded cash," Gainesville Police Corporal Joe Britte said.

No one was hurt in the robbery. It happened a couple hours after the robbery of the Sun Trust bank branch on Thompson Bridge Road. Surveillance photos show two white men robbed the bank.
