Teen passenger released from hospital

By Derreck Booth Anchor/reporter
CUMMING - Forsyth County authorities Tuesday said a 16 year old passenger in a car involved in a fatal wreck Monday is out of the hospital.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Karleen Chalker said Joel Knost of Cumming was released from North Fulton Hospital. Knost was riding with 17-year-old Kyle Alan Robins in a car. Robins died in the crash.

Investigators believe Robins' car was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control in a curve and hydroplaned into a pickup. Cpl. David Garrison of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Traffic Specialist Unit said the impact cut Robins' car in half.

In happened around 4:00 p.m. on Hendrix Road, just off Highway 369.

Two children in the pickup were treated at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and have been released. Their mother, Brandi Densmore, 30, of Cumming, was not injured in the crash. A passenger in the truck, Allyson Jameson, 18, was taken to North Fulton Hospital with minor injuries.

Garrison said everyone involved in the crash was wearing seatbelts. He said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
