Public invited to tour new county government center

GAINESVILLE - The public will get a chance Thursday to tour the new Hall County Government Center and say goodbye to outgoing county commissioners Ashley Bell and Tom Oliver.

County government officially relocated to the new complex at Browns Bridge and McEver roads this year. The open house is tenatively scheduled for the two hours prior to Thursday night's county commission meeting, 4:00-6:00.

County spokeswoman Katie Crumley says the gathering place for the open house and reception for Bell and Oliver will be the Human Resources Training Room.

"Our hope is to have county staff available to take the public on tours during the reception for Bell and Oliver if they're interested," Crumley added.

"During the meeting, we should have a special proclamation announcing the opening of the building, and we'll have a plaque to hang on the outside of the building recognizing the county's leadership at the time of its opening."
