CarFit event to help senior drivers in Gainesville

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - Drivers over the age of 65 are invited to participate in a CarFit event at the Veterans Community Outreach Foundation on East Athens Highway on Friday, December 7.

Organizers say the event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Trained professionals will guide participants through a 12-point checklist with the participant's own vehicle, making recommendations for car adjustments and adaptations.

CarFit organizers point out that drivers over the age of 65 have the highest crash death rate per mile of any population except for teenagers.

Anyone who wants to know more about participating may contact Walter Snelling at 770-532-7668 or Rv. Victor Johnson at 770-256-6450.
