North Hall loses coin flip, will travel to St. Pius for semifinal

An 11th straight home playoff win will have to wait for North Hall football.

The Trojans lost a coin flip with St. Pius on Saturday to determine home-field advantage for next week's Class AAA semifinal. Both teams entered the postseason as No. 1 seeds.

North Hall (11-2) blasted Peach County 52-10 on Friday to notch the Trojans' first semifinal berth since 2007.

St. Pius fought off Washington County 40-35 in its quarterfinal bracket in Atlanta.

North Hall has made great use of The Brickyard in the playoffs, conceding just three total touchdowns, one in each postseason victory. The Trojans are 0-3 in their history against St. Pius, falling against the Golden Lions in each of the last three seasons, including a 17-3 defeat in the 2009 Class AAA second round.

The winner of next week's contest will play in the Class AAA title game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta against the winner of the Buford vs. Cartersville semifinal.
