One person airlifted after Banks County wreck

By Rob Moore
BALDWIN - One person was taken by medical helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta after a single-vehicle wreck on Highway 105 in Banks County Monday afternoon.

Banks County emergency personnel were dispatched to the wreck, located just east of Lamar Christian Church, at 3:37 p.m.

The Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck left the road, struck several trees and came to rest on its side in a ravine at the U.S. Forest Service boundary. The roof of the truck had to be cut and peeled down to allow emergency personnel to access the driver.

The male patient was airlifted from the parking lot of Lamar Christian Church.

Georgia Highway 105 was blocked until the wreck was cleared at 5:25 p.m.

Further details of the wreck and the person involved were not available from the Georgia State Patrol late Monday night.
