CUMMING - Forsyth County authorities have released details of a Thanksgiving morning traffic accident that claimed the life of a young Gainesville man.
According to Captain Tim House of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, it happened early Thursday morning on Highway 369 at Reeves Road.
"Essentially he left the roadway and spun around and then hit a tree," House said.
21 year old Alex Owen Pagel was traveling alone when the accident happened.
According to Cpl. David Garrison of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Traffic Specialist Unit, Pagel was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
"My understanding was that he was traveling at a high rate of speed and that alcohol may be involved in the accident," House said.
The investigation is continuing.
