Barrow Co. authorities search for inmate

WINDER - The Barrow County Sheriff's Office continues to search for an inmate who walked away from a work detail Monday afternoon.

Authorities said Ross Eugene Hilmo was cutting grass on county property when he escaped. The work site was located on Tom Miller Road between Highway 81 South and Haymon Morris Road.

Hilmo is a white male who is 5'10" and weighs around 180 pounds. He has brown hair and closely-shaved beard. Hilmo was last seen wearing an orange Barrow County Inmate jumpsuit and black boots, according to sheriff's department officials.

Barrow Sheriff's authorities said he was in jail for sale of narcotics at the time of his escape.

Anyone who might have seen Hilmo is asked to called the Barrow County Sheriff's Office at 770-307-3080.
