Buford keeps focus, rolls over Fannin, 51-0

BUFORD -- Buford pounded out 309 yards rushing behind 13 different runners in taking a 51-0 win over Fannin County Friday night in Region 7-AAA action.

Meanwhile, Fannin County totaled just 64 yards of offense for the game as the Buford defense dominated from the opening kickoff.

It was the first game for the Wolves (5-3, 3-2 Region 7-AAA) after having to forfeit two region wins earlier in the week.

Quinn Davis had 64 yards rushing, including a 58-yard touchdown run, and Zavior Hoxie had 57 yards rushing, including a 45-yard TD run to pace Buford. Donte' Gordon had one carry for 35 yards and one TD, Dontravious Wilson had four carries for 35 yards and one touchdown, and Thomas Wilson had one carry for 36 yards and a score.

Montgomery VanGorder and Taylor Mitchell combined for a perfect 8-for-8 passing for 133 yards and one touchdown pass apiece.

For Fannin County, quarterback Trevor Stone was just 3-of-12 passing for 32 yards and Jerod Petty led the Rebels (1-8, 1-5) in rushing with 22 yards on nine carries.
