GAINESVILLE - According to the Hall County Sheriff's Office, a Hall County jailer resigned his position last month after his traffic arrest in Banks County. <br />
In a release Friday, Hall County authorities said William Cochran resigned his position on September 15. He announced his resignation after telling supervisors of his arrest by the Georgia State Patrol, according to the sheriff's office.<br />
Hall County authorities said they've learned he was later convicted of weaving on the roadway.
Hall County officials believe healthy county employees will be of greater service to the county. With that in mind, they have created a health-based fitness initiative to provide free fitness training for county workers.
Georgia recently joined ten other states in deciding to sue the federal government over policies that would allow transgender students to use the school bathroom of their choice.
