Shooting suspect sought in Athens-Clarke

ATHENS - Athens-Clarke County Police Department has issued an alert for a shooting suspect said to present a significant threat to life and property.

The alert, issued at 10:24 p.m. Thursday, is for a gold Chevrolet Impala - possibly a 2000 model. The suspect is a black male, 5-foot-10, 135 pounds, with a slight goatee.

The shooting incident occurred on Old Monroe Road.

Anyone who sees the vehicle or individual is asked to dial 9-1-1 immmediately. The man should not be approached as he is considered armed and dangerous.
