Dedication of Korean War monument set for Saturday

GAINESVILLE - The Korean War Veterans of Gainesville are ready to unveil a monument in memory of the soldiers from Hall County who died in that battle.

The monument will be dedicated this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Rock Creek Veterans Park in Gainesville, and the ceremony is open to the public.

Keynote speaker for the Saturday event is Sunny K. Park with the American Korean Good Neighboring Foundation. A number of members of the Korean War Veterans of Georgia, the Hope Creek Korean American Youth Orchestra and the Hall County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will participate in the event.

A total of 11 men from Gainesville and Hall County died in the Korean Conflict.
