GAINESVILLE - A scaled-back schedule goes into effect this weekend at select Hall County Library branches.

The library board voted last month, following a public outcry, to return to Saturday operations at three branches starting this Saturday. (See earlier stories.)
The board had voted earlier this year to shutter all branches all day on Saturdays and Sundays as a cost-cutting move.

According to a posting on the Hall County Library System's Facebook page, this is the schedule that will be followed:

The Gainesville Branch and the Spout Springs Branch will both be open this Saturday, October 20 from 9:00-1:00.

The regular schedule will be:
Every Saturday 9:00-1:00 (Gainesville Branch)
Every 1st and 3rd Saturday (Spout Springs Branch)
Every 2nd and 4th Saturday (North Hall Tech Center)
