Forsyth County and city of Cumming officials in mediation

CUMMING - City of Cumming and Forsyth County officials are working with a mediator to hammer out agreements on water and the local option sales tax distribution.

The two sides have sessions scheduled over a two-day period ending Tuesday.

"The mediations are being held at North Georgia College (and State University) at the facility off Pilgrim Mill Road," Forsyth County Director of Communications Jodi Gardner said.

"Former Georgia Chief Justice Norman Fletcher is leading the mediations," Gardner said.

The two sides are trying to decide how to split the sales tax and reach consensus on an agreement for the county to continue buying water from the city.
