GAINESVILLE - The trial of a man accused of having consensual sex with a 15 year-old girl concluded Friday in Hall County.
According to Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh, 49 year-old Weyman Edward Wheeler was found not guilty of Aggravated Child Molestation, and there was a hung jury on the charges of Statutory Rape and Child Molestation.
However, the jury returned a verdict of guilty on the charge of Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes, which can carry a sentence of 10 to 30 years in prison. The date for sentencing has not been scheduled.
Hall County deputies arrested Wheeler a year ago in May.
At the time, authorities said Wheeler had been involved in a consensual sexual relationship with the 15-year-old.
