CLARKESVILLE - Fabian Huizar, a student in the Air Conditioning Technology Diploma Program at North Georgia Technical College (NGTC), has received the Grainger $2,500 Tools for Tomorrow Scholarship.

The scholarship included a customized Westward toolkit to be awarded upon successful completion of the student's technical education program. Huizar recently completed his program of study and was presented with his toolkit at the Grainger site in Athens September 24.

"It is so gratifying to see our students rewarded for the hard work and effort they put into learning the skills to be successful in the workplace," said NGTC Director of Institutional Advancement Cynthia Brown. "These are role models for the students who will come behind them. They are the future of our workforce."

Through a competitive selection process, students studying electronic systems, heating/air conditioning, plumbing, pneumatics, welding, automotive, construction, facilities maintenance or other industrial trade may apply for the scholarship. Beginning in Fall 2010, a limited number of scholarships were set aside by the Grainger Corporation in support of industrial trades professions.
