Flowery Branch police arrest forgery suspect

By Katie Crumley
FLOWERY BRANCH - A Decatur man that police say is responsible for forging checks in at least five different Georgia counties was arrested Thursday night in Flowery Branch.

Police Chief David Spillers said 27-year-old Ronald Anton Coleman, Jr. was arrested after purchasing more than $1,300 worth of electronics from the Flowery Branch Target.

He said authorities had been looking for Coleman since he wrote another forged check at that same store on Sept. 13.

Spillers said following the arrest, Coleman also admitted to using a forged check earlier in the day Thursday at the Gainesville Target store.

He said Coleman faces a number of forgery charges, as well as theft by deception and possession of marijuana.
