HealthSmart Breakfast & Wellness Expo is Oct. 10

GAINESVILLE - The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce is making plans for this year's HealthSmart Kickoff Breakfast and a daylong Wellness Expo on October 10 at the Georgia Mountains Center, starting at 7:30.

Jeff Hill, a meteorologist and part of the Fox 5 News Team in Atlanta, will be guest speaker breakfast.

Hill recently suffered complications from a heart disorder. He now has a pacemaker and is sharing his story about the importance of health and fitness and recognizing your body's symptoms.

The breakfast will feature a "Heart Smart" menu catered by Oakwood Occasions.

The chamber's "Most Fit Company Awards" in three categories (large, medium and small companies) will be presented at the HealthSmart Breakfast.

WELLNESS EXPO FREE, OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Free health screenings will be available at the Wellness Expo from 7:30-1:30. Included will be screenings for glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI, carotid artery, asthma and hearing. Flu shots will be available at a minimal cost.

In addition a free "Salad for Lunch" will be offered by McDonald's to the first 100 people who participate in the health screenings from 11:30-1:30.

Over 70 exhibitors will be participating in the Expo, and booth space is still available. Booths are $350 for Chamber Members, $500 Non-Members and the price includes 8' x 10' space, 8' table, 2 blue cloth chairs, tablecloth, table skirt.
