Veteran officer to run for Dawson Co. sheriff

DAWSONVILLE - A Dekalb County police major has declared his intentions to run for sheriff of Dawson County.

In a press release, Kevin Ellison says he'll run as a Republican for the office. According to information in the release, Ellison has worked in law enforcement for 25 years.

Ellison and his family have lived in Dawson County for 13 years.
