Panthers snap losing streak

By Jeff Hart Sports Reporter
LEXINGTON -- Dustin Scott rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns to lead Jackson County to a much-needed 29-13 win over Oglethorpe County in Region 8B-AA Friday night.

Scott helped the Panthers (2-4, 1-0 in subregion) build a 21-13 halftime lead. Kyle Daniel then helped put the game away connecting with Xavier Harper on a 34-yard TD pass.

The Panthers also got a safety late in the game to finish the scoring.

Jackson County never trailed taking a quick 7-0 lead on the opening series of the game. Oglethorpe County (3-3, 1-2) would get as close as 7-6 on its first drive of the game but could get no closer as Jackson County scored on its next two possessions to run out to a 21-6 lead.

The Panthers will travel to face undefeated North Oconee next week in Bogart.
