Volleyball: JHS splits 8-AAA matches

OAKWOOD -- Johnson split a pair of Region 8-AAA matches Thursday in volleyball action.

The Lady Knights lost to Gainesville 25-15, 25-21, 25-18 in the opening match but rallied in the second match to beat Lumpkin County 25-22, 25-5

Savannah Turk had five kills and four digs in the two matches to lead Johnson. Lindsey Anderson added five digs, three aces, and two blocks and Sophia Love had seven aces and 14 straight points in serves to go with four assists

Johnson is off until Wednesday when it travels to Lanier in a tri-match with the Lady Longhorns and North Hall.
