Shepheard taking over softball at Chestatee High

By staff reports
GAINESVILLE -- Chestatee High School announced on Thursday evening that Angela Shepheard will take over the school's softball program.

Shepheard takes control of the program from coach Devon Thomas, who leaves the Lady War Eagles to take a full-time position at Brenau University.

Thomas returned to coach in high school in December 2009 and was to split time with the softball teams at both Brenau and Chestatee, but he recently accepted the position as Eligibility Director of Athletics at the university, requiring all his efforts be concentrated on the Golden Tigers.

Coach Shepheard was already on staff with Chestatee as assistant softball coach and has previously served as the head coach at Flowery Branch High School.
