Soccer: Lady Falcons finish with win

By staff reports
CUMMING -- The Flowery Branch girls soccer team did it what had to do to clinch a state playoff berth but didn't get any help from West Hall on Tuesday night.

The Lady Falcons defeated West Forsyth 2-1 (3-1) in a penalty shootout in Cumming, but Gainesville also took out West Hall 3-1 on the same night to clinch a playoff berth and deny Flowery Branch a spot in state.

The Lady Falcons (10-7, 7-4 Region 7-AAA) finished with the same region record as Gainesville but lost out to the Lady Red Elephants in a head-to-head tiebreaker.

Flowery Branch's season is now complete.
