By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
UNDATED - A northeast Georgia country music group is in the national spotlight again.

The Zac Brown Band has been nominated for six awards by the Academy of Country Music, four for the band and two for Brown himself.

At last year's ACM awards, the group was named Top New Vocal Group and earlier this year picked up its first Grammy.

This year, the band picked up nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Top Vocal Group of the Year, Album of the Year (The Foundation) and Single of the Year (Toes). Brown received two nominations for producer.

This year's ACM awards will be held in Las Vegas April 19.
