Incoming Commission And Board Of Education Members Take Oath Of Office

(Cleveland)- White County's new  commissions and board of education members  were officially sworn into office Wednesday morning at the White County Courthouse.  A large group of family, friends and county officials  were in attendance.  White County Probate Judge Garrison Baker administered the oath of office and the loyalty oath to the candidates.

Terry Goodger , Edwin Nix, Lyn Holcomb are the new commission and Craig Bryant is a returning commissioner took the oath of office.  Amy Crumley and Barry Vandiver took the oath of office for White County Board of Education.

Edwin Nix, who has served previously as a commissioner said he feels there will be some tough decisions that will have to be made this next year, but praised the current board for leaving the county in the good shape it is in. New Board of Education member Amy Crumley  said she wants to work to maintain the high standard of education in White County Schools and admits she has a lot to learn.

Out going Commissioner Joe Campbell, who is completing a four year term told the crowd that he's not sure what he will be doing in the future...but he urged the citizens to get behind these newly sworn in officials.   

The new commissioners have completed their state training and have met to receive a report from county department heads to prepare them for their new duties that begins January first.
