White, Lumpkin, Union, Habersham, Rabun and Towns Prepare For Significant Ice Event

CLEVELAND - The National Weather Service has released information concerning the winter weather that is expected to impact North Georgia Friday evening and during the day Saturday. White County Emergency Management Agency Director David Murphy said Thursday afternoon that the weather service has advised this could be a significant ice event.<br /> <br /> The weather service is predicting between 2-3PM Friday we could start seeing rain/sleet/snow mixture with no accumulations expected due to the temperature. After dark, between 7-9PM, accumulations will begin as sleet and freezing rain. We could see ice accumulations of ¾â
