Hall County emergency crews stretched to the limit during storm

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - During the height of Monday morning's stormy weather, the Hall County 911 Center answered a total of 369 calls in a two and a half hour period, according to Fire Marshal Scott Cagle.

Most of the calls were to report trees on power lines, roads and on some houses. Early Monday after, dozens of traffic lights in the Gainesville area were still out and just over 8,000 businesses and residences were reported without power.

During the entire storm period, just one minor injury was reported on Joe Chandler Road where a tree fell on an unidentified man. He sustained a cut to the head and was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to Cagle.
