Gainesville High rifle team defeats North Forsyth

The Gainesville High rifle team recorded a victory over a strong North Forsyth squad, 1110-1097, on Thursday and improved to 3-0 on the season. <br /> <br /> Lauren Weaver owned the highest score of the night with a 289 -- one point short of an automatic invitation to the state championship. Chris Hernandez was the second-highest shooter overall with a 283, followed by Toderick Williams with a 269 and Noe Galvan, also shooting a 269. <br /> <br /> The Red Elephants will be travel to Lumpkin County on Thursday to shoot against their toughest opponent of the year.
