Gainesville Elite hoops finishes second at tourney

JONESBORO - The Gainesville Elite basketball team finished second in the King of the Mountain basketball tournament in Jonesboro this past weekend.

The Elite went 2-1 in pool play and rallied in the fourth quarter of their semifinal game on Sunday afternoon to beat the D.C. Blazers 56-42.

The Elite moved on to the championship game Sunday night and lost to the nationally-ranked Georgia Stars 53-50 in the final minutes.

Gainesville Elite is now 24-9 on the season.
