Soccer: Gainesville boys wrap up region season with win (4/14)

CLEVELAND -- The Gainesville boys soccer team wrapped up its Region 7-AAA season on Monday night, defeating White County 3-1 at Warrior Field.

Irving Salgado scored the Red Elephants' first goal, scoring on a 24-yard free kick.

Caleb Turner bagged Gainesville's second goal, pounding in a penalty kick after getting fouled in the box.

Gabriel Osorio finished the scoring, converting a cross from Turner.

The Red Elephants (8-7-1, 6-4 Region 7-AAA) must now wait to see if they will make the state playoffs, depending on results from games on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Gainesville play their final regular season game at Grayson High School this Wednesday at 7:30.
