Baseball: Falcons avoid letdown at East Hall (4/14)

RABBITTOWN -- Flowery Branch avoided a letdown after last week's win over Gainesville with an 11-3 victory over East Hall on Wednesday in Rabbittown.

The Falcons (16-2, 12-2 Region 7-AAA) scored five runs in the first inning and added five more in the seventh to ensure the win.

Patrick Henry picked up the win on the mound for Flowery Branch, pitching six innings while allowing no earned runs. He also struck out eight.

Ken Wise suffered the loss for the Vikings.

Danny Price led the Falcons at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Henry also drove in two runs, while Greg Palmer smacked a home run for Flowery Branch. Jordan Wilson and Cody Ackerman also had one hit and one RBI each for the Falcons.

East Hall chipped away at Flowery Branch's early lead, scoring runs in the third and fifth inning to pull within 6-2. But it wasn't enough, as the Falcons scored five runs in the seventh to win going away.

Flowery Branch travels to take on White County at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. East Hall, meanwhile, will travel to take on North Hall at 7 p.m.
