Forsyth Co. bankng executive accepts new position in Dalton

UNDATED - Forsyth County banking executive Andrew Walker has resigned his position with Buckhead Community Bank to accept a new position as President<br /> and CEO with Alliance Bancshares in Dalton, Ga. <br /> <br /> "It was a difficult decision to leave Buckhead Community Bancshares, a financial<br /> institution which I believe to one of the best banks in greater Atlanta, but the desire to place family first was paramount," Walker said in a statement.<br /> <br /> After serving for 11 years as President and CEO of Georgia First Bank, Walker came to Forsyth County to start First National Bank of Johns Creek. Several years later he sold the Bank to Main Street Banks, now BBT. He left Main Street to start First National Bank of Forsyth County and subsequently sold First National to Buckhead Community Bancshares and served as a director and Regional President for the Forsyth and Hall units. <br /> <br /> "We are very pleased to have Andy as our new CEO," said Jackson P. Turner, <br /> Chairman of Alliance National and a former Director of FNB Johns Creek, FNB <br /> Forsyth County and Buckhead Community Banks.<br /> <br /> Walker will start his new duties on Jan. 1.
