Georgia Tech routs Chicago State, 57-31

ATLANTA - Alex Montgomery scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Georgia Tech to a 57-31 win over Chicago State on Saturday.

Montgomery, a freshman who scored in double-figures for the third straight game, made a layup with 16:22 left in the first half to spark a 19-2 run over a 10 minute span for the Yellow Jackets (10-1). Chioma Nnamaka made three 3-pointers during the stretch.

Zondranika Williams led Chicago State with 9 points.

Georgia Tech closed out the opening half with a 31-13 lead. The Cougars (5-6) were held to one basket over 6:55 of the first half as they went on to shoot 25 percent from the field and committed 23 turnovers in the game.

Janie Mitchell scored 11 points for the Yellow Jackets, while Jacqua Williams had six steals.
