Road Atlanta losing spring ALMS race next year

CHESTNUT MOUNTAIN - Road Atlanta is losing the spring American LeMans Series race next year.

"We are expanding to new markets in Houston and Salt Lake City," said Ryan Smith, a spokesman for ALMS. "The Houston race is May 12, a Friday, and will be run on the streets of the city. The Salt Lake City event, run at the new Miller Motorsports Park just south of town, is July 15, a Saturday."

Smith added, "We'll be back at Road Atlanta for Petit Le Mans next year, but ideally we don't want to impact the same market twice in a year."

The Petit Le Mans held at Road Atlanta in the fall.
