Former Gainesville city manager resigns Jackson County post

JEFFERSON - Jackson County Manager Al Crace - a former Gainesville city manager - has resigned his post in order to start his own private consulting company.<br> <br> Crace made the announcement Thursday. He oversaw day-to-day operations of Jackson County since 2001.<br> <br> Crace says he will use his 33-year experience in public service to advise local governments.<br> <br> Crace was city manager in Gainesville for several years until the mid-1990s when he left to take a similar post in Athens-Clarke County, moving on to Jackson County.<br> <br> (The Associated Press contributed to this story.)<br> <br>
