GAINESVILLE - The National Poultry and Food Distributors Association will honor Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy with its 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award during an annual breakfast January 27th in Atlanta.
The Gainesville-based group began the award in 1991, honoring Frank Perdue of Perdue Farms. It is given to ``a poultry industry leader who has played a major role in the growth of the industry.''
Cathy first opened Chick-fil-A in Atlanta in 1967. The restaurant chain now has more than one (b) billion dollars in annual sales from over than 1,100 locations.
