PEACHTREE CITY - While forecasters were predicting rain to continue through Thursday night, they've changed their tune, and the flood watches are off for northeast Georgia.
The flash flood watch for most of north Georgia expired on schedule at 4:00 p.m. A flood watch had included Elbert, Franklin, Habersham, Hart, Rabun and Stephens counties through Thursday evening, but the weather service cancelled that at 4:00 p.m.
As the rain continued to push south, the weather service issued flood watches for much of central Georgia.
The Weather Channel forecast for north Georgia doesn't call for rain through Sunday.
