Veteranarian: 'Walter' is a miracle cat

By By Scott Kimbler
OAKWOOD - Doctors at Oakwood Animal Hospital say a cat found in the wall of a new house in South Hall Tuesday morning should survive its ordeal.

Hospital manager Lisa Farmer says Walter, named that because he was found in a "wall," was discovered by the new homeowners.

"Over the weekend they kept hearing noises in the wall," Farmer says. "When the contractor got there, they actually had to take part of the wall apart."

She says Walter was trapped for the past two weeks, but is doing better than one would expect.

Farmer says the cat had gnawed at the wooden studs for food.

Farmer adds Walter is still very sick and lucky to be alive. "It's a miracle," She says. "I guess a 'Christmas miracle' if he does make it."

Walter is grey, weighs two pounds and is probably around two years old.

The house is located in the Anaguluskee Subdivision, Farmer says if you are the cat's owner, please call Oakwood Animal Hospital at 770-503-9080.
