GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN - The Green Bay Packers are holding out hope that wide receiver Donald Driver will play this weekend.
Packers coach Mike Sherman says an MRI confirms the diagnosis of a bruised and strained right shoulder suffered when Driver was tackled during Sunday's 42-to-17 loss to the New York Jets. The exam showed no damage to the rotator cuff.
Sherman says he didn't know when Driver would be able to practice.
Driver led the Packers with 70 catches, 1064 receiving yards and nine touchdown grabs.
Green Bay also hopes to have safety Darren Sharper back for its wild-card game against Atlanta. Sharper sat out Sunday's loss because of a sprained right knee.
